Single Sheet Tempered Glass with Coloured Enamel

Definition of production process

ertex ® COLOR is tempered glass coated with glass ceramics. Any flat glass with a smooth surface that can be tempered is suitable for use as base raw material . The full surface enamel coating is applied to the glass by means of a roller-coating procedure. The coating amalgemates with the glass at a temperature of approx. 650°C during the tempering process.

  The enamel layer forms an integral part of the glass and can thus no longer be removed . (Due to the coating process only full surface enamelling is possible.)

  Product properties

The enamel coating is largely scratch proof and acid resistant. The durability against fading and the adhesion to the base material corresponds to that of ceramic amalgemated paints. The enameled side must not to be exposed to the elements and is also not meant to be the viewed side. Due to the production process an inevitable pattern remains on the enamaled side, which is however not noticeable from the normally viewed glass side. The standard palette of colours is principly based on the RAL colour system. Special colours upon request.
 

Range of applications

ertex ® COLOR has it´s applications in interior design as well as in building exterior constructions e.g for outer wall coverings or frontages (glass- curtaining and facades). The products qualities are therebyapplied both as a form of protection from the elements and as a means of architectural expression.
With the application in thermal facade constructions, ertex ® COLOR forms in combination with thermally insulated panels the enclosures of rooms.
