business, exsisting since 1938, is today headed by JOSEF ERTL, a
successor to the original founder. In the past decade the business rapidly developed to a size which necessitated the structuring of a Joint Stock Company. Ertl Glas originally acquired itīs good reputation predominantly with the production of tempered and insulating glass. The actual product assortment largely covered the extensive variety of most, at the time, required functional glass types . |
| 1981 | The Construction of the first production hall in todayīs still current location is completed. The industrial manufacturing of insulation glass is undertaken as well as large scale glass merchandising. |
| 1989 | Expansion
of the production area to include the manufacturing of tempered glass, with
the introduction of the first horizontal tempering furnace. Especially the maufacture of low-e (low-emissivity) coated tempered glass and resin lamenated glass now become an integral part of Ertl Glasīs production capabilities. |
| 1992 | Installation and bringing into service of the second tempering oven. The entire production area now encompasses 6.000 mē |
| 1995 | Establishment of Ertl Glas s.r.o (work Ricany) in the Czech Republic. |
| 1996 | The decision for the establishment of a technically advanced and modernized manufacturing operation is made. |
| 1997 | In July 1997 the production of tempered glass begins in work Ricany with the introduction of tempering furnace Nr. 3. |
| 1998 |
Sees the establishment of the ERTEX
SICHERHEITSGLAS ( Ertex Safety Glass ) Joint Stock Company, as well as the
construction of a new manufacturing operation on an 8000 mē area. Since 1999 the company undertakes the production of autoclave laminated safety glass (VSG) using PVB -foil. The production of laminated glass units with thicknesses of up to 100 mm is well within the capablities of this highly modern production plant. The production of laminated safety glass using a combination of tempered (ESG) and, or semi- tempered glass (TVG) are amongst the distinguishing strengths of ERTEX SICHERHEITSGLAS. |
| 1999 | The
range of machinery and equipment of Ertl Glas Amstetten is further extended
with the introduction of two new production lines: a computer numeric controlled
(CNC) high speed glass processing plant, for edge processing, drilling and
milling of float glass, as well as a silk screen printing and enamel coating
line for the production of glass ceramic screened and enamelled safety glass. In the sister company Ricany the markets most modern tempering oven is installed and goes into production as the company groupīs fourth tempering oven. |
