Laminated Safety Glass

ertex VSG is produced by laminating at least two float, tempered or part tempered glass sheets(or a combination thereof) using a tough elastic, highly tear resistant Polyvinyl-Butyralfoil (PVB).

The production according to DIN 12543 Sections 1 to 5 bases it´s standards on the laminating of one or more PVB foil layers between glass sheets, which are then pre-bonded with the glass using a rolling press procedure.
After the so called pre bonding the elements undergo an Autoclaving process - under controlled heat and increased air pressure, as well as a defined time period, the final product is established.

By combining selected glass and foil types, a large range of optically and, or technically specific requirements can be met . Depending on the material combinations most demands with regards to safety bylaws in construction and architectural wishes can easily be fulfiled

Mechanical Properties

As a result of the laminating process using PVB-foil that has a tear resistance of > 20 N/mm² and a stretch capability of > 250 %, a guarantee can be given, that in the event of glass damage, the glass fragments will remain bonded with the foil. This ensures, on one hand that the potential injury risk is substantiallly reduced and on the other hand, that the sructural integrity still remains largely intact, even after the element has been damaged.
