Company information
Founded in 1938, today the company is led by JOSEF ERTL, a descendant of the company founder. Once the company had grown into a considerable size over a number of decades, it acquired the legal form of a stock corporation.
It was predominantly the production of tempered glass and insulating glass that originally earned Ertl Glas a good reputation.
Our current product portfolio covers most of the broad spectrum of functional glass.
1981
Construction of the first factory building in Amstetten, Dieselstraße, Mauer and launch of industrial insulating glass production and glass wholesaling.
1989
Expansion of production area, installation of the first glass tempering furnace, and start of tempered glass production. From then on, Ertl Glas excels in the production of tempered and laminated safety glass products with thermal insulation coating.
1992
Building extension and commissioning of second tempering furnace. The total production area now amounts to approx. 6,000 m².
1995
Ertl Glas s.r.o. founded in the Czech Republic in 1995.

Foundation of ERTEX SICHERHEITSGLAS Aktiengesellschaft and construction of a new manufacturing plant spanning an area of 8,000 m². The company starts producing autoclaved laminated safety glass coated with PVB films. One of the most modern production plants in the industry enables the manufacturing of multi-layer laminated safety glass with a thickness of up to 100 mm. Ertl Glas stands out in particular with laminated safety glass production from tempered or semi-tempered glass components.
1999
The machine fleet of Ertl Glas Amstetten is expanded with a high-performance CNC-controlled glass processing centre for edge processing and drilling, followed by the installation and commissioning of a screen-printing and colour coating system for producing ceramic-printed and colour enamelled safety glass. The most cutting-edge and, in total, fourth glass tempering furnace of the company group is put into operation in the Ricany subsidiary.
